I'm finally joined by Jonas Tintenseher. They've recently published a shadow subclass, is currently working on an epic adventure for Triglav, and you can find traces of Jonas' work all over the third party supplements being published for Draw Steel. And I ask what makes Draw Steel so nice to design for.

I'm joined by Jenny [REDACTED]. She's one of the most prolific creators in the Draw Steel community. She just released Across the Solar Expanse, Space Battles back in March, and is working on a new seafaring supplement. We dive into the inspirations and ideas behind her designs.

Codex is in Early Access go get it, we basically got a fourth of the Crows core rules, the beastheart is out, the magewright class was released, one year of The Blacksmith's Guild and seven announced crowdfunders.

I'm joined by ChaosOS. He's been working on the Draw Steel system for FoundryVTT since way back in 2024 and, with Metamorphic Studios, recently released officially licensed modules for Heroes, Monsters, The Delian Tomb and Road to Broadhurst, including official art. We talk about making Draw Steel work in Foundry, and how it positions itself versus the Codex.

I'm joined by Spyger, the designer behind the Huntsman class that's crowdfunding as this episode drops. We talk about how the class is a ranger class for Draw Steel, but how it moves away from the pet theme covered by the beastheart, and goes in the opposite direction as a monster hunter. I'm joined by DimaJeydar. He initially popped up on my radar when he released a Ukrainian translation of the starter rules for Draw Steel. In the time since he's posted an update, published a starter adventure, and a fourth level adventure set in the timescape. Ananam of Triglav Games is back, as my first returning guest. The team at Triglav is about to finish up work on the Vampire class they crowdfunded earlier this year, and they're at this moment running their second crowdfunder called Boggits of Kingsmire. They're bringing the frogs and the swamp to Draw Steel in full force.

Tom Bloom is the designer of Lancer RPG, author of Kill Six Billion Demons, and self-proclaimed 4e sicko. Tom made some comments about Draw Steel on Bluesky, and I thought it would be interesting to hear his thoughts on Draw Steel, as a designer of a well-liked tactical RPG. We also talk about games not appologizing for their design, how testing makes games better, and how Draw Steel is not an appealing game.

Draw Steel has been out for a month. It's been well received and new people are picking up the game and entering the community all the time. There's also been an update to the released adventures, errata for the core rules, more Djordice are coming, 50 leveled treasure has been released, the kobold ancestry is happening, the vampire class in on pre-order, and more!

James Introcaso. Lead designer of Draw Steel. Need I say more. I was really excited to have him on, and it was a delight. James talks about going to GenCon, the value of showing that the core rules aren't sacred, how the victory and respite system is core to the Draw Steel experience, and his adventure design philosophy.

In this episode I speak with Onslaught Six. He's currently crowdfunding the community magazine Ratcatchers, which features articles from multiple people in the Draw Steel community. We do talk about the magazine, the permissive license they're publishing under, but we start off with the space cowboy RPG he designed, how to find the right game for the right play group, and the OSR megadungeon he recently published, Ruins of Castle Gygar.

My guest this time is Paul Ligorski, also known as Heart of Arcana. Paul has written quite a few advenuters, not only for Draw Steel, but for D&D 5e, Mausritter and Cypher. He also runs a local game night multiple times a month. We talk about writing adventures for different systems, which TTRPG systems work well for teaching new players, how interacting with gods is different in Draw Steel, and how watching Draw Steel being designed has made him reimagine what can be used for inspiration.

The Delian Tomb is being tested by patrons, the layout for the core rules is nearing completion, and an adventure to run at conventions is in the works. Also, the dice from the crowdfunder is shipping, and Flee, Mortals! and Where Evil Lives is out on Foundry.

I'm joined by Ananam of Triglav Games. They are at the time of publishing this episode crowdfunding a vampire class for Draw Steel. It's an ambitious project and they've pulled out all the stops with professional art, playtesting and layout. In the interview we talk about how they're designing the vampire class, what it's like to designing classes for Draw Steel, and the decisions for the crowdfunder and what they've learned from it.

It's the silence before the storm. News about Draw Steel is sparse. MCDM is working on new products, but they've barely made into testing. Some more exciting news is the new third party crowdfunder that just launched, for a vampire class. And, of course, I have some highlights from the community creations.

Welcome to the one year anniversary episode! It's wild to me that it's already been a year. Seems only like yesterday I recorded the 90 second trailer, and the retrospective episode about MCDM. The dicefunder was a brilliant success, Codex is getting more and more useful for running the game, Draw Steel is getting a lot of tweaks after reviewing the backer packet feedback, and a new patron packet dropped. The packet has tons of changes and updates. Let's jump in.

This episode I have the pleasure of having Solace on. You might know their name as one of the first people to publish homebrew for Draw Steel, once the creator license dropped. What they published was actually the first published adventure made for Draw Steel.

I mentioned in last month's roundup that the flood gates of homebrew had opened with the release of the Creator License for Draw Steel. As predicted, that was only the beginning. The amount of stuff being published is almost overwhelming. There's also details about the next packet, the dicefunder and Stawl.

This time I'm talking to Tamwin. If you've hung out in the Draw Steel channels on Discord, you've probably seen his name a lot of times. I ask him about knowing the rules seemingly by heart, reverse engineering the kit math, and his experience running tactical test scenarios.

Now, this is a bit embarrassing. It turns out I messed up and included some wrong information about the dicefunder in the most recent episode. The roundup for August.

The flood gates have opened, and Draw Steel is here in full. The backer packet has dropped, along with the Creator License. More people are playing the game, and homebrew is flooding out from the community. And that's just in the last couple of days of August. But we also got word of a dicefunder, a new Timescape wiki and a few details about Codex. What a month!

As promised in the last interview episode, this episode is the continuation of the conversation Ashley and me had. The conversation was recorded at the end of June, so we don't know about the play test packet yet, but we still had much to talk about.

What a month! MCDM launched on a new VTT, there's a new fan channel on YouTube, and the patron play test packet finally dropped, to much celebration among the patron community on Discord. But it's finally been announced, the MCDM RPG has a name!

December has been a Goxomoc of a month! The crowdfunder launched, and went completely gangbusters; and the play test packet for patrons went out before the year's end.
